BRENT. THE BOROUGH OF US.
Our Youth Club in Lockdown
Watch the new film by Sport at the Heart.

This film started as a filmmaking workshop for the young people of local youth club Sport at the Heart (SatH). But, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic it quickly turned into a very different type of project.

Moving online, the classes became an important place for this young community to come together virtually, and to talk about their experiences of lockdown. Fortunately the workshops were able to continue in person when Sport at the Heart opened their annual summer camp at the local youth centre.

Making this film was an opportunity for the group to share and record their thoughts about their own lives, their youth club community, and the key moments that they felt represented this unprecedented time.

This film is the culmination of that reflection and is made largely by the young people themselves.

Sport at the Heart (SatH) is a grass roots charity supporting children, young people and families to access sports, physical activity, the arts and community programmes which positively impact their physical and mental health and wellbeing. Set up by local people to mitigate the continuous cuts to community based initiatives, SatH work with the community to co-produce projects that engage and empower.
