Together we are announcing our collective and individual place within history and culture. And questioning what it means to leave our mark on society. In the show we explore cultural heritage, community and home through our varied and shared relations to Brent.
As young people living in Brent, it is important to us that this show also connects with conversations surrounding:
- personal and collective identities
- local and historical archives
- shared and public programmes
We Were Here is a cumulative showcase of sound and visual artworks. It is conceived and curated entirely by the 20 young creatives from Brent that make up this year’s MYA group. This event is to share our work and the collaborative practices we have developed through the programme.
