Loops Made 2 Hold Us // Take Care 2gether.wav is an exhibition that brings together the collective offerings from the inaugural group of Brent-based artists from Metroland’s Peer-to-Peer programme.
This is an outro! A family portrait, reflecting the 20-week period of artist development that took place over the Brent Biennial 2022…Take Care 2gether!
The exhibition features new and existing works by artists: Ocean Baulcombe-Toppin, Bediah, Bill Daggs, Dita Hashi, James Jordan Johnson, Nilik Khimani, Becky Lyon and Yasmin Nicholas.
Peer-to-Peer is an artist development programme. The exhibiting artists are from the first cohort. The aim is to connect artists in Brent. To create a support network of peers. Over 20 weeks, the artists attended seminars, workshops and a weekend away. It’s an encouraging environment to meet other artists in Brent, share their artistic ideas, practice, and process – peer to peer.
Made of sounds, clay, Brent-ish water, and sunlight captured in the Caribbean, these cyclical loops were made 2 hold us. A space for things to fall in and out of synchronicity, and take form in the company of each other.
Come along over the weekend. See the exhibition, take part in workshops, hear poetry readings, meet the artists and learn more about Metroland Cultures’ Peer-to-Peer programme.
Private View: 14th July, 6-9pm. Book your ticket.
