2023 in review
2023 may feel like a long time ago, but at Metroland we’re still reflecting on the achievements of our community and thinking about how to apply everything we learnt to our work.
It’s hard to sum up a year in just a few bullet points, but here goes!
In 2023:
- 20 local young people started and completed the Metroland Young Associates programme.
- 8 emerging artists were supported with year-long residencies at Metroland Studios.
- A new international curatorial residency was piloted by Metroland Cultures.
- Our Collective Rhythms festival achieved a combined online and physical audience of 130,000 and created 93 paid-opportunities for Brent-connected artists and creative practitioners.
- A Major new commission by Sean Roy Parker launched with Sufra Food Bank and Kitchen after 18-month community-collaboration.
- 3 local cultural organisations are now based at Metroland Studios
These are some great numbers but for the full story, download the evaluation of our work in 2023 below. If you would like to be kept up to date with our news, programmes, events and exhibitions, sign up to our newsletter (you can unsubscribe at any time).
