Project Space

A flexible space used for exhibitions, installations, research activity, and testing ideas.

The project space is used by resident artists and organisations, as well as by Metroland-led programmes. It is a space for experimentation, where work can be developed, adapted or shown in process. Artists can test ideas at scale, try out installations, our research programmes can share findings, hold discussions and develop ideas in public while they are still taking shape. Projects might be shown for a day, a week or a season, and can change over time in response to the people who visit and the conversations that happen around them.

The space is also used by community-led groups and partner organisations based in the building, who use it for workshops, screenings, meetings and events. This means it is often in use for more than one purpose, and different kinds of practice can sit alongside each other and overlap.

Please visit our What’s On page for current projects and opening times, or get in touch if you would like to talk about using the space.
