Our three Metroland Studio artists in residence will showcase aspects of their practice throughout the autumn months.
On Friday 5 November, 6 - 8pm join Artist collective and audio/ visual creative outlet, the Pesolife Art Collective for their photobook launch Pesolife II: Trapping out the Gallery including a live book reading and talk from Nathaniel Télémaque from the Collective.
On Saturday 6 November, 6 - 8pm there's a feast for your ears with an online radio stream and listening party at Metroland Studio of audio mixed by Pesolife members Secaina Hudson & Kalina Blaize.
From Friday 5 until Sunday 7 November, the Collective present their Peso Bodega Installation++, inspired by ‘Bodegas’, small family-run convenience stores, which offer an eclectic variety of day-to-day items. Drawing on this idea, the collective will curate different individual and collaborative audio/visual artworks in Metroland Studio’ white walled space, allowing visitors to have uninterrupted encounters with their art.
Since gaining a space at Metroland Studios, the Pesolife Art Collective have always considered their studio to be something akin to an East coast Bodega, i.e. a small shop that offers an assortment of everyday items. Their studio had become a space where they make different artworks and explore different ideas. Extending the notion of the Bodega beyond the studio to a small gallery space, this installation presents a range of different audio/visual Pesolife artworks created between 2019 and current day.

The Pesolife Art Collective look forward to seeing you there!
