OPEN STUDIOS
Metroland Studios is an artists’ studio just off Kilburn High Road, for artists living and working in Brent. On Saturday 18th February 2023, we’ll be holding an Open Studios event, where you can come and see some of the work that’s made here - and meet the artists who make it. The studio will be open from 1PM - 5PM. In this time, there'll be:
- A free open lunch from 1PM (sourced from Metroland’s favourite Lebanese restaurant, Soor, on the High Road).
- A chance to see the work our artists are making, including by Bediah, Arsalan Isa, Kes-Tchaas Eccleston, Tom James, Nilik Khimani, Heiba Lamara and Becky Lyon.
- The last chance to see our current exhibition, Making The Room Sing, a project by Amanda Camenisch and Therese Westin, made in collaboration with women from the Asian Women’s Resource Centre.
AND!
- A free workshop from artist Linett Kamala on her Recipe for a Happy Mind project, with an emphasis on art, mindfulness and wellbeing. (2-3.30PM)
- Free film screenings from Other Cinemas, who showcase the work of Black and non-white filmmakers. (Times will vary)
- Free kids craft activities from artist Tom James, making protest signs from found materials. For kids aged 4 and up - note, must come with a grown up. (2-4.30PM)
Metroland can be found behind Argos, 121 Kilburn High Road. Go down the alleyway on the left-hand side - we’re on the other side of the square. Our official address is 91 Kilburn Square, London, NW6 6PS.

In light of the recent events in Turkey and Syria and the catastrophic damage that the earthquakes have caused, we would like to take this opportunity to raise funds towards relief efforts that are supporting those affected.
We have enabled an optional Donate button on Eventbrite for any forthcoming bookings. On the day of the Open Studios, we will be selling Brent Biennial 2022 merchandise and t-shirts donated by Lesbians and Gays Support the Migrants. While we will still be serving free Lebanese food, we will also be inviting pay-as-you-can donations. There will be other opportunities to donate on the day, with all of the proceeds going to the fundraiser.
