Roxy Rezvany is an award-winning Brent filmmaker with over seven years experience in the TV and film industries. Her work aims to expand the perception of British identity and bring marginalised narratives to the mainstream, with a focus on migration stories. Roxy has been commissioned for Brent 2020, London Borough of Culture to write and direct a short scripted film about an interracial immigrant couple in Brent.
The aim is to celebrate Brent’s rich immigrant history by highlighting interracial immigrant couples that we rarely see represented on screen. On completion, a screening of the film will be held for residents where they can learn more and discuss both the joys and challenges of being in an interracial couple in London, and learn more from a local filmmaker about setting up their own film projects.
Roxy encourages any community members who have an interracial immigrant relationship story to share to get in touch via socials @roxyrezvany (Twitter & Instagram).
